These hares are made from stoneware. I cut the hare shapes, paint a layer of contrasting coloured dark grey slip and then, when it is almost dry, I carve into the surface, using a method called 'sgraffito', to reveal the white clay beneath. The hares are then fired then hand painted with a satin matt glaze before being refired. 
 
Each of my hares is individually carved and is, therefore, completely unique.

There is a small hole in the top of the hare's ear where I have attached a jute string loop, al;ternatively you can remove this and hang it directly onto a small nail.
 
These look great hung individually, amongst pictures or even on a wall outside (they are fired to a high temperature so they are frost proof!)
