I have designed this fun little bird match-striker to go with the little bird candle holders that I made last year!
 
They are thrown on the potters wheel using a cream stoneware before I add a beak and a tail. I then paint them with black underglaze and carve the design onto the surface.  They are then dried, bisque fired, glazed, and refired to a high temperature.
 
I have placed a circular match striker on the base of each pot and they each come with a set of 95mm coloured matches.
